Azkals rip Tigers; makes history

The Philippine football team, affectionately called the Azkals, made football history on friday as it beat the Bangladeshi Tigers with an impressive showing at 3-0 final score. This victory ushered the Azkals into the AFC Challenge Cup final group for the first time in Philippine history. Hopefully this positive streak by the national team continues.

[In the 3-0 game,] Filipino-Spanish booter Angel Aldeguer Guirado scored 2 goals while fellow striker Ian Araneta struck 1 to help the Azkals qualify for the tournament proper scheduled next year.

Next stop: 2014 World Cup Qualifiers!
